Meet Your Instructor

I decided to spend my life on music the day I watched my teachers play with complete freedom — no hesitation, no searching for the next note, just music. I’ve been chasing that ever since.

I built my training two ways: hours a day at the keys — an Associate’s in Music from Northlake College and a Bachelor’s in Piano Performance in Jazz Studies from UT Arlington — and countless nights on the bandstand, where you learn to commit to a note with no second takes. I pursued classical and jazz side by side because I’ve always wanted to be a complete, well-rounded musician, and I’ll be a student of this music for the rest of my life.

For over five years I’ve taught both traditions together, in private and group lessons. I play and improvise alongside my students, not just in front of them — and over time they gain something bigger than technique: the confidence to be decisive, and the discipline to keep going when a piece gets hard. When I’m not teaching, I’m performing around DFW with my jazz trio.

My studio runs on structure: clear goals, weekly progress, two recitals a year, and a foundation strong enough to take a student anywhere they want to go — classical, jazz, pop, or teaching it themselves someday. I want every student to come out versatile and ready for whatever path they choose.

Lessons are held at FUMC Lewisville, where I’ve served as modern service pianist for over five years. Practice Music School is an independent studio and not a program of the church.
